Founders who started here.
Free zone · Online retail
A founder setting up from abroad
- The situation
- A founder wanted a UAE company for an online shop but could only travel once.
- What we did
- We compared three free zones on cost and activity, prepared the file remotely and planned one week for the visa and bank meeting.
- The result
- The licence and visa were done in one trip, at the price agreed at the start.
Mainland · Contracting
From free zone to mainland
- The situation
- A small contractor kept losing work because its free zone licence limited where it could trade.
- What we did
- We set up a mainland company, moved the staff visas across and prepared the tender documents.
- The result
- The company could bid for mainland work within two months.
Insights
What to know before you set up.

Mainland or free zone?
The right answer depends on where your customers are.
Read the article
A mainland licence lets you trade anywhere in the UAE. A free zone often costs less to start but has limits on trading outside it. Start from your customers, not the cheapest package.

What a low package price leaves out
The headline price is rarely the whole cost.

Ask about visas, medical, Emirates ID, office rent and the renewal fee next year. We put all of them in writing, so the total does not move later.

Bring your licence, passport, proof of address, a short business plan and your expected customers and suppliers. A clear file saves weeks.
Before you start
What does the price include?
The licence, government fees and our service fee. Visas, office rent and bank charges are shown separately before you pay.
How much is the renewal?
We give you the renewal cost in writing with your first quote, so there are no surprises in year two.
Do I need to be in the UAE?
Not for most free zone companies. You visit once for your visa medical and Emirates ID.
Can you set up in Saudi Arabia too?
Yes. We guide UAE companies through opening a branch in Saudi Arabia.
